Plant Identification

4 Days - $850

“Very hands-on and visual – very informative!  The instructor was very personable, comfortable to be around, and extremely knowledgeable!  Great person to teach!”

Jennie – Houston, TX

This is a field class on the identification of plants that commonly occur in a variety of different wetlands in the region where the class is scheduled, with emphasis on plants of the wetland/non-wetland interface. Participants will learn general plant identification principles and diagnostic field characteristics of each species to enable ready distinction between species with very similar appearances.  Many of these characteristics are in addition to those noted in field guides.

Although all plants encountered during the class will be covered, strong emphasis is placed on grasses, sedges, and rushes.  Classes in March, April, and May will have special emphasis on spring grasses and sedges.  The class in October will have special emphasis on fall grasses and sedges, as well as members of the aster family.

This class is taught by Mohlenbrock.

Clearwater, Florida March 3-6, 2008
